My AP scores came back and I am tears. I did terribly in my subjects and I don;t know what will happen. Will these scores hurt my chances of getting into an elite university?
5-Macro, Micro, Calc AB, AB subscore
4- Calc BC
3-English Lang
2-Physics 1, Physics C Mech, Physics C E&M
1-Physics 2
I don’t know what will happen… My top choice school is Tufts. Will these score never allow me to go to these schools.
No, definitely not! Just choose to send in your good scores and you don’t have to send in your bad ones. Sure, it’ll raise a few eyebrows that you didn’t send all your scores (implying you didn’t do great on all of them), but it definitely won’t severely impact your admission.
What is important is that you took the highest level of classes available and appropriate for you, and did well in them… Your grades in those classes are more important than your scores. You send in your scores after you choose your college and hopefully receive some credits and/or place out of taking certain classes.
Hi, paranoid high schooler here. Sorry to prolong this discussion, but does one low AP score (a 3) serve as a large hindrance to admissions to schools like UVA, JHU, WashU, and some low-tier Ivies? I’ve done well on my other APs (three 5’s and three 4’s), have good SAT scores, GPA, extracurriculars, accolades, and volunteering. Thanks!
No. AP scores are mainly uses for credit and/or placement. I would, however, delete the term “low-tier Ivies” from your vocabulary. Oh, and don’t hijack another person’s thread.
