If I, a member of the class of 2018, Take the old sat in January 2016, will it count in 2018 when I apply to colleges?

I think at that point the test might have been in for so long they will expect people to have switched to a new one. That’s just a theory is all though I honestly have no clue, just ask College Board yourself.

I couldn’t find a specific answer from CollegeBoard, but it is implied by their answer to one of the questions found here: <a href=“About the SAT Suite – SAT Suite | College Board”>https://www.collegeboard.org/delivering-opportunity/sat/faqs

Question: “How will colleges compare scores on the redesigned SAT to scores on the current SAT?”

Answer: “The College Board will provide colleges with a concordance that shows how the two sets of scores compare.”

They’re going to have a concordance table to compare both versions of the test… So yes, the old SAT will, presumably, still be valid when you apply to colleges in 2018. Hope this helps.

I think though colleges typically require standardized tests taken within 2 years of applying, IIRC.

Thank you so much Fri612.

@SouthBear No problem!

@payn4ward 's link is good. Right now, only Northwestern will not accept the old SAT for '18ers.
