I am applying RD to many schools such as Barnard, Wellesley, Uchicago, Bryn Mawr ect. yet I am worried that my bad SAT scores 1720 out of 2400 and my bad subject tests (540 for molecular biology, and 510 for Math 1) will be detrimental towards my overall application. I retook the SAT again in october but actually scored worse! I think that the ACT would be much easier for me, so I am deciding to take it in Feb. This way, it can replace my subject tests scores as well. Do you think that the colleges will get them in time? Some of my colleges told me to submit my old scores anyway just in case they don't get the new ones in time, but I really hope they do!

I always thought that the last colleges would take was January.

wow how did you get a 510 on Math 1… lol

Bernard and Wellesley state they want all tests completed by Dec test date; UChicago and Bryn Mawr by January test date. One of those months is usually true for any college. Does that mean Feb test will be completely ignored? No, not necessarily. If you apply you will need to timely send other tests, which you do need to do to have your file deemed timely because if you send no tests, you face a high risk of being rejected before that ACT test ever shows up for failure to timely submit a required test. If in fact you meet the requirements of sending everything timely including a required test then you can then send the February ACT test to update your file and if it actually gets there before a decision has already been made on you it is likely to be considered. However, you should assume it is doubtful it will get there in time. The test is Feb 12. That means final results don’t come out until end of February or early March (you need a result on the regular test and the writing test, which does not come out until a week or so after the results of the regular test). It likely gets sent and is in the colleges hands by second or third week of March. There is a high probability that by that time a final decison on you will have already been made.

“GreedisGood” Yeah, 510 I know lol. But its weird because on the SAT I always do bad on math, and the practice tests too. Yet, I just took the ACT practice test from the offical creator of the test, and I got a 33 on the math out of 36. Doesn’t make sense to me, but I am definitely taking the ACT Feb!

I suggest you call each school and ask them the last test date you can test on for them to accept you. I did that too because I’m retaking my SAT in January

“yennaaa”, I emailed my admissions counselors for two schools, and one always accepts the feb ACT for RD, and the other said that they will accept it, but are not sure it will get to them in time.
