does anyone know when amherst is planning to send letters? i have been sitting on my stoop every day waiting for the mail to come, but it never brings anything from amherst! has anyone talked to the admissions office? or received anything? the wait is killing me!!!

From the admissions website, calendar section:

4/1/06
Decision letters to Regular Decision applicants mailed on or about this date. Applicants who reside outside the U.S. also will be e-mailed decisions.

I highly doubt Amherst sends regular decisions before April. We should probably expect letters around the 2nd-4th of the month.

i'm so nervous! my friend got one of the early writes, like when they tell a bunch of people like two weeks earlier. i just want a yes or no!

Me too........I'd even rather get rejected, if it means I don't have to be WAITLISTED for the 4th time. sigh

Of course, acceptances are nice too :)

but still, i do have do say that i'll prefer waitlisted or accepted. rather than a rejection, because trust me, being waitlisted/deferred is better than outright rejection.

I don't want to go into the specifics of my resume, but let's just say everything is good except my ACT score. I have accepted at Smith, deferred to the GSP at NYU, wait-listed at Wellesley and rejected at Northwestern. Do I still have a shot at Amherst, or is that totally out now that I got rejected at NU?

I just got wiatlisted at NU, which was kind of a wake up call. my persepective was totally skewed, i think.
