Will the website get really slow on Monday?

Since everyone will be logging in at 3 PM. The only other UC I applied to was SC and I actually just logged in now because I forgot to check it at midnight.

I can't wait to find out!!!!! If I don't get in I'll be seriously crushed.

if i dont get in im not going to school for the rest of the week.

i dont want to see anybody that did get in celebrating
and i don't want to deal with people asking me if i got in and me having to say no. oh god what a terrible scenario.

I'm OOS so no one really even knows of UCSB or applied, but my friends know that's my top choice and saying "No I didn't get in" will REALLY suck.

ughh that will really really REALLY suck ahhh...

i tried telling my parents about my rejection from uc davis last night and i burst out into tears right in mid sentence

i dont even want to go to uc davis

i can only imagine how i will explain rejection from santa barbara

Aw, well what are your stats? Even if you got rejected by Davis, you still have a good chance at SB!!

did any of you guys get the invitation for chancellor's reception

If one got rejected from Santa Cruz, what are the chances of being accepted to Santa Barbara?

^^ probably low. but you never know!!

3.7 weighted gpa

1960 sat I score
760 sat II math II
600 sat II literature

AP scores:
AP calc AB- 3
AP US- 4
AP English Lang- 4

ECs include: varsity cheer (3 yrs) captain 1 yr, president of students for a safer sudan (2 yrs), Mu Alpha Theta (1 yr), etc

Community service- 60+ hrs

and i'm gonna be able to check tomorrow until 930 pm cause i have to go to work right after i get out of school!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I did not get the invitation :( but I read people with stats lower than mine did get it.

xdarlinnikki- your stats are close to mine!! 3.75 UC gpa, 2020 SAT, 670 on bio and lit.

the invitation was only sent to the first batch of acceptances....dont worry it doesnt mean you didnt get in

^I don't know if you'd know the answer to this but does that mean their applications were turned in earlier (I turned mine in the day before the deadline) or their applications were just read earlier than others or their stats are all around better?

"I'm OOS so no one really even knows of UCSB or applied"

Hey me too! Pretty much the same with all of the other colleges. It's nice in a way... I couldn't even imagine having to go to school and face all the "I GOT ACCEPTED!" crap.

Yeah I agree...because I'm sure the majority of seniors in california high schools applied to SB. Hearing everyone talking about it while I didn't get in would be HORRIBLE.

^yeah i know, thinking about that already made me sad`=(.. i was so worried last semester during the application filing period. i couldn't stop thinking what i would do if i heard everybody say they got in but i didnt

xdarlinnikki, your stats are wayyyy better than mine. (and i got invited to the reception). i think u have a good chance of getting in. good luck!!

if i remember correctly the invitation was only sent to like 8% of the applicants (please correct me if i'm wrong, i wasn't paying full attention at the reception at that moment lol)

--sighhhhhhhhhh---- i hope so!!!! IM SO NERVOUSS!!!!!!! i'll be sure to inform you all of the decision tomorrow.. im soooo nervous ahh!!

and about that chancellors reception thing - i heard that they send out that letter to "high achieving students" to try to convince them to go to sb instead of a better school. so im not tooo worried that i didn't get onee. ... :-\

good luck everybody!! hopefully ill see you at santa barbara?? knock on wood knock on wood ahhhhhh

I actually have lower stats than that. I have a 3.4 GPA and really low SAT scores.

Man I really wish I would've gotten the invitation just because it would just be a relief so I wouldn't have to WAIT! The anticipation of signing on/waiting for the page to load will suck, even though it'll only be like a second.

Yes, expect the site to lag.

Anyone know how the decisions are made as opposed to UCSC?
