Looking at HYPSM level schools next fall, and my academic side is fine (>2350 SAT, top 2% of class) but thousands of people can say the same. Tell me - is my extracurricular side impressive enough to make me stand out?

My plan is to be an entrepreneur/businessman, and to do an undergrad engineering degree. My app will revolve around this pitch.

White male public school here.

[ul]Founded a nonprofit themed 5k that raised over 20k.[/ul]

[ul]Taught myself Portuguese, French, Italian, and spoken Mandarin (in addition to Spanish at school) for international business endeavors.[/ul]

[ul]State winners of environmental competition (I want to be aware of how the environment and big business find balance).[/ul]

[ul]Been investing for over a year.[/ul]

[ul]Have published short stories in actual magazines (this is to round me out some). I also write novels but they haven't seen the light of day? I'll mention it if I can.[/ul]

[ul]Part-time job for over a year.[/ul]

I don't want to sound snooty but does all this sound impressive? And will colleges understand why a businessman might want to major in engineering, or will they suspect foul play? (it's not funny business, it's the course of study I actually want to follow.)
