I will be receiving my admissions letters before colleges see my third quarter grades, so I was wondering if my third quarter grades would play any role in helping me get merit scholarships (assuming the college offers them). What do you think?
Like so many other things… it depends on the college.
Not likely
Did the colleges ask for third quarter grades? If not, how would, they even know what they are…never mind use them for scholarship consideration?
Most colleges do not ask for third quarter grades…at all.
??? How will your colleges even see 3rd quarter grades? Mid term grade reports, if required, were sent after 1st semester grades were posted. I doubt that your school sends out “3rd quarter grade reports”.
Colleges rarely care or even see “quarter grades” anyway since those are seen more as “progress grades” than actual grades.
If any of your schools have a policy that they will increase merit based on increased GPA or test scores that occur after admissions, then such a school would want to see your 2nd semester GPA, not your 3rd quarter GPA.
