I'm going into ninth grade this school year (high school), but I took advanced classes last year that will count as high school credit. I got straight As in every class and maintained a 4.0 GPA, but I got a B- as a midterm grade in one class. I turned in an assignment, but it must've gotten misplaced, so he counted it as a zero and I got a B- for the midterm. I redid the assignment and a lot of extra credit papers to ensure that I would get an A for my final grade, and I did. I've always gotten As, so this B- freaked me out and it's still bothering me a lot, since I consider anything under an A unacceptable.
Will this B- midterm show up on my high school transcripts, and will colleges see it? I'm really scared that this will mess up my future and that no college will want me. I plan on going into pharmacy, and I know that they want students with good grades. It doesn't seem that this midterm affected my final grade, because I'm pretty sure midterms in middle school are just benchmarks showing grade progress. I've been thinking about this all summer, and I can't stop panicking.

Seriously??? You’re afraid no college will accept you because of one B-??
I really hope you’re just over exaggerating and not serious, because that is just ridiculous. You have nothing to worry about, just focus on doing your best in high school.

It’s not even a real B-, just a midterm grade.
If a college rejects you (and probably some of them will), it won’t be because of that.

But good grades aren’t enough, so I’d suggest you stop worrying about a B- on a midterm and start working on your ECs, essays, recommendations, test scores, etc.

This has to be a ■■■■■ account.

The user name heavy breathing is a give away.

?? I think you’re mistaken: I’m just trying to find answers to my question.

And thanks to the other two for helping me calm down a little bit and giving me advice. What do you mean by recommendations? Do I need them to apply?

Don’t worry about a B- as a midterm grade, you got an A in the class anyway, colleges don’t even look at your midterm grades. Several people get B’s, even as final grades, and still make it in to top colleges… It’s nothing to worry about.

Focus on keeping your GPA up throughout high school, focus on getting good SAT/ACT scores, focus on getting good recs from teachers and counselors. DON’t focus on one midterm B.
