I kinda wondering if every admitted student to UCLA has the similar item within the contract——“you must notify our office immediately of any withdrawals, incomplete grades, drop in academic performance (including 2 or more C grades, any D and/or F grades, any C grades in major preparatory courses), or other changes to your class schedule.”

Is this their way to define “maintain GPA” precisely?

I withdrew from a Health Education course before I was admitted in UCLA. I have completed my pre req and IGETC courses already. So upon getting in, I subsequently reported the withdrawal. My reason I gave them was that the course did not challenge my intellectual interests and that it was necessary for me to redirect my efforts towards my other academic endeavors.

The next week or so, they emailed me that my reported changes will not affect my admission offer and that I should continue to report any changes.

I would really like to know if getting below a 3.0 for the Spring sem would mean rescinding my offer. I’m in that uncertain situation and it really sucks

Interesting. Maybe I should list that as my reason if I decide to drop. :D

As for getting a 3.0 for the spring semester, it probably will matter, but I don’t know if you’ll get rescinded. It really is a case-by-case basis.

Many of us believe that it is not literal because if it was, a 4.0 student getting 1 B would mean her/his offer of admission would be rescinded.

A lot of the UC’s are asking for a minimum of 3.0 so, to be safe, I’d try to get at least that…

@TT4UCOSBEL I’ve read that line on my letter over and over again and I now think they mean that you must maintain that the GPA you reported in your application is the same as on your transcript. but withsuch broad language as “maintain the grade point average” who know

I’ve already Submitted my changes to UCLA, but they’re taking forever to respond so I’m just asking for opinions or if anyone has insight on my situation.

I finished my Associates degree in December 2013, and I didn’t want to not have any classes for whole semester. So I took four classes at a Cal State and one class at my community college the semester. Do you think I would get rescinded since it might make me not look like a community college student anymore?

I am officially freaking out right now. I called UCLA wondering earlier if I could take my Math G.E. pass/no pass and the lady on the phone told me it was okay and there was no problem in doing so. The UC transfer matrix also states that this is okay. Now, after e-mailing UCLA post admissions they are saying that they expect me to take math/English or any major prep for a letter grade. I already started taking this class pass/no pass and I already SIR’d to UCLA. I am so shocked and sad right now. Does anyone have any suggestions.

@evanwong I haven’t heard anything back yet either. I know that obsessively checking my email won’t make the responses come back any faster but I’m getting very anxious!

I’ve called but they keep saying it can be up to 10 business days. I’m going to call again today and see if I can get something more definitive.

I called the general number for admissions officers and the woman I spoke to told me that she couldn’t tell me anything for certain but that it was unlikely I would get rescinded (I dropped a non-major, non-IGETC course) so that was a little comforting…but I’d still like to hear back for sure.
