I am a freshman right now and my life has gotten very difficult. I have depression and anxiety. It has affected my grades and in my Honors Biology class I have a C. My other grades are mostly B’s but I think I’ll be able to raise most of those.I don’t know if I can raise the C by the end of the semester, though. Last semester, I got all A-s and one B. I’m moving to a place in which I think I’ll be happy so hopefully next year my grades will be better. I’m auditioning for the musicals at the new school and I will be taking many arts and extracurricular activities I haven’t done any community work year, though. My dream college is UCSB. Do you think I have a chance?
UC’s do not use 9th grades in their UC GPA calculation but your Freshman grades will be self-reported on your UC application. That said, one C will not keep you out of the UC’s, but you do need to keep up all your grades for the a-g courses and you will need more A’s than B’s if you are looking at the UC’s.

Mostly Bs probably won’t get you into UCSB.
