D is on track to get her AA though DE from DSC prior graduating HS, May 2016.
UF freshman applicants with AAs are required to indicate a college and major when they apply for admission.
At this time, D wants to apply to the Architectural (B Design). Architecture at UF is a limited access program (there is a selection prior to entering upper division). I’m not sure what the options are for the students that are not selected to continue in the program.
As a plan “B” for the my daughter I’m thinking it would be good for her have the transfer requirements met for the college of engineering completed prior to starting at UF. (say, if she wants to do Civil Engineering if not selected).
I can see an advantage in the D finishing Calculus III, and taking Chem 1 the summer after she graduates HS (completing 6 of 8 critical tracking courses).
Will UF let HS grads take JC classes prior to starting at UF? Yes, there is a 12 college unit limit, post high school, to still be considered as freshman applicant.
Thanks.
