Will you CHANCE me?

I just received an e-mail today saying that my online app is in progress...
So! i just wanna hear from you guys how good my chances of getting the good news might be.
first of all...I'm an international student from South Korea who moved to NY 3 years ago.

well, so here are some things about me:

GPA
4.0 UM

SAT
V: 560, M: 730, W: 610 (1290/1900)

SATII
MIIC: 800, Bio M: 730

AP
Cal AB: 5, Bio: 4

::: I go to a small private school, bc i cannot go to any public schools near my house. Since the school is really small, it doesnt really offer many ap or honors courses. I tried my best, and took all the hardest courses that were available for me... I hope UM admission officers understand this...

pretty decent EC's that are mostly concentrated on music (piano)

some leadership positions

bunch of unimportant awards

attended that NSLC medicine camp once during the last summer

good essays (worked mad hard on these...)

goood Recomm. letters

oh also, a superintendent of Highland Central Scool District wrote me a recomm. letter...will this be any help for me?

Hey! First off, your UM GPA and letter of rec are great. ECs are pretty decent, though I wouldn't call them your "hook", unless you can be a little more specific about leadership positions, etc. SAT is just in their mid-50% (around 1900-2170). Right now I'd say you are a slight reach-reach bc of OOS status and SAT scores (but don't worry about the AP classes, they'll understand ;P ). the essays will probably make the difference, so if they are unique, etc., you have a very good shot at gaining admission. Good luck!

thx for ur comment vc08!
about the ECs...i guess i cant really say they are decent..i should say they are average... =[

anybody else with ideas??

retake the SATs...if you can add some points you could probably get in.

umich loves gpa though...so the 4.0 helps. if you take the SAT in Nov or Dec and could improve Michigan would count that. I'd devote some time to studying and taking the exam.
