Willamette is Late

Looks like they missed their 1/15 notification deadline for EA II applicants. (The next mail delivery is 1/16).

I know! Bummer! And I got a letter from them yesterday, too, so got all excited, but then it was just a form thing that had nothing to do with a decision. Just more PR.

There is no way to check status online. But their office is going to be open on 1/15 - I called to ask.

Same here!

I live in Salem, too.

Oh well!

Has anyone applying EA II heard yet? My D is still waiting here in AZ. Nothing in yesterday's (1/16) mail.

We haven't heard anything, either.

When you get there, this will just be another dorm story. Have one attending there now and loves it. Good luck to all of you.

17th, nothing yet in Salem...

Accepted.

:)

How'd you find out? E-mail, snail mail - what???

Octavian - in your acceptance, was there any info. about merit aid / scholarship?

Snail mail.

The actual letter is addressed the 15th of January. It was sent first class the 16th, I think.

58% of EAII applicants were accepted. Average GPA: 3.928, average SAT I: 1300.

There's a cover letter, Instructions sheet, Acceptance of Enrollment & Housing Intent Form, Declining enrollment sheet, Health History Form, Tuberculosis form, and Office of Disability and Learning services sheet.

Regarding the scholarships: all it says is...

Note to financial aid and scholarship candidates
1. Merit-based scholarship announcements will be mailed to selected Early Action admitted students by the published notification date of January 1. Those students who submitted the CSS Financial aid PROFILE will receive an estimated need-based award from the Office of Financial Aid at that time as well.

If you are applying for need-based aid, be sure you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1 and no later than February 1, 2007. Willamette University's code for FAFSA is 003227.

In addition to submitting the Advance Deposit and Acceptance of Enrollment & Housing Intent Form, if you are receiving a scholarship or other financial aid from Willamette, you should return your signed Financial Aid Award to the Office of Financial Aid by May 1st (the postmark deadline).

Not sure if that's any help or not. I didn't go after any scholarships or anything, so...

Cheers,
- Derek

Thanks
It helps alot ----- except I didn't get the letter :(
Maybe tomorrow....
Congrats! Are you going - or hanging out for more info. from other spots?
That's a pretty high GPA

Glad I could help.

I'm waiting for news from one more school (Pepperdine). My personal stats are decent (4.0 GPA, 2350 SAT, solid courses and fair extracurriculars, homeschooled through BYU since 10th grade) but we'll see what happens. It's probably 50/50 for Willamette.

I wish you the best of luck - and hope you get the good news tomorrow!

Cheers,

Finally! Today - 1/25 - got acceptance letter. I sure don't know what the hold up was, but am happy.

Congrats!

I received my scholarship info today (Elmer and Grace Goudy), and I'm pretty happy about that.

Congrats to you - I bet you'll get in at Pepperdine, too - your stats are awesome.
Once again - I HAVEN"T received my letter (!)
Maybe tomorrow.....

Got my letter today - Hallie Ford scholarship - so happy about that too.
Now everything else isn't til April.....

My daughter received her regular decision acceptance today! Now I have to see if there is anyway we can make it out there for their Explore Day.

My D received her acceptance today too. She applied very late - Feb 28. We expressed mailed all the documents (including the school ones) and requested rush on the SAT scores.

When or how are the students notified about merit awards? If the admission letter didn't say anything about merit awards, should we assumed she didn't get any merit money?
