Hi all, looking for any information I can get on the Presidential Scholar program. Anyone know what percentage of students are selected? Are the research opportunities much different than offered to other students?

Hi Trail Rider,
Congratulations on being accepted and also for being designated an Adams Scholar. Adams Scholars are typically the top 5% of Colby’s applicant pool, thus there are very few accepted each year. The research opportunities are completely unique to Adams Scholars and it is really the best opportunity to conduct research as a first year. There are tons of new research opportunities exclusive for Adams Scholars, and they can be viewed here: [Colby College | Admissions & Financial Aid | 2011-2012 CARA Research Projects](http://www.colby.edu/admissions_cs/presidential/2011-2012-cara-projects.cfm). Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Other than the money earmarked for summer research, are there any benefits after freshman year?

Hi Trail Rider!
As my colleague above noted, there are exclusive research opportunities designated for Adams Scholars. The positions can last all four years through a student’s career at Colby–This is a great way to being a four-year relationship with a professor not just as a student, but also as a research colleague.
To view all the benefits of an Adams Scholar, including invitation to special events, please go to: [Colby College | Admissions & Financial Aid | Presidential Scholars Program](http://www.colby.edu/admissions_cs/presidential/index.cfm)

Thank you!

Hello - would you mind providing student profile information for the presidential scholars?
