as @vadad63 said, the last time Thanksgiving fell on the 27th, letters were sent out on the 1st. More people are applied this year though so midweek is probably a decent bet. Depending on whether or not the committee finished before the break, we could be hearing as early as tomorrow.

@daniil450 Do you know how many more people applied this year ED than last year?

@hillsnow I doubt they’ve released the exact number as of now haha.

Does anyone know what the average in-state SAT score is for ED? I’d guess around 1950?

@hillsnow in 2008, about 900 students applied ED. Last cycle was about 1,170.

Patiently waiting in Southern Illinois.

Gotcha. Thanks!

@KLBAER I’m from IL too… can we carpool if we go there? Idk of ANY other Illinois people

W&M posted on the admit it blog that we would not hear back on the 1st. If I had to guess it’ll be Wednesday or Thursday

@Camden997 Can you reference where they ruled out sending decisions on the 1st? I only read that we won’t hear by the 1st. (However, I still doubt we’ll hear tomorrow).

@Camden997 @ribbonroad224 this is what I heard, from a comment on one of the blogs from WM admissions:

“we will be in committee until we break for the holiday and likely will finish up some Early Decision review when the holiday is over. While we cannot speculate on a date for a decision release (we will blog on that soon) it will not be by December 1. Our early December release timeline is still on track.”

I have no idea how to interpret this. Any thoughts? I’m thinking Tuesday/Wednesday, but that’s purely a guess.

@michigan4435 I assumed that meant that the window for notices to go out started on the first. I think it just may need some clarification.

@Runnergirl76 - living in Murphysboro, IL. Bottom of the state- It would be great to carpool for trips home! Where do you live?

@daniil450 Now I’m wondering if there is a chance they could come out tomorrow! Wow, there are going to be some sleepless nights until these emails come out…

@frizzy It’s definitely a possibility! I don’t think the committee has wrapped up yet, though. I could be wrong! They might just have a few more to go over tomorrow. All speculation.

My guess is Tuesday at 5 PM, but it could definitely be tomorrow night I believe. I doubt it would be Thursday/Friday like the original presumption was. Either way, my 1360 is looking very weak upon looking at threads of 1450+'s getting rejected. Fingers are crossed for you guys though. Tribe Pride regardless!

Oh, and I feel like we should all commit not to hate William and Mary if/when we get denied. The longevity of William and Mary does not depend on our individual acceptance, and we have to trust that they are building the best and most diverse class of 2019 possible. Whatever the decision is, William and Mary will remain awesome. :)

@jpvn2015 I think that’s a great commitment to make (for all colleges!) and btw, i only got a 1350 on SAT’s haha, so don’t count yourself out yet, remember, the review is holistic, and not dependent on only one part (Including the grades!)

@jpvn2015 what threads are those?

@Excitedforschool Haha very true…hopefully William and Mary will be the only college I have to make that commitment for though. hehe And yeah I’m definitely not…unfortunately my schedule isn’t very strong, so I really have to rely on uniqueness and in-state at this point. haha

@daniil450 I believe it was referring to out of state students RD. Not entirely sure which one, per se, but they are all over college confidential on the “William and Mary” sub forum. I know in-state early decision is so much different, but I still help but think turning down 1450’s is kind of scary.
