William & Mary Class of 2019 ED Applicants Discussion

@Michigan4435 Admitted applicants are mailed letters and emailed, deferred and denied applicants are only emailed.

@ribbonroad224‌ I actually applied to mostly southern schools, as I like the warm weather and southern hospitality. I’m a very open person, and love to be physically and emotionally close with people, which seems much more easily obtained with southern hospitality. When i say south, I mean Virginia, and the carolinas, I don’t really like the deep south (Alabama, Mississippi,Louisiana). Specifically about william and mary, i found the students and atmosphere reflected a holistic, wholesome, and all-around relaxed and happy lifestyle, which i could get used to. I’m so excited to leave the northeast, too cold, too fake, and too much pressure!

@excitedforschool what was your gpa? Our stats sound really similar! Good luck everyone!

@Excitedforschool‌ I’m from NY and got a 32 too! I agree so much about why you love the w&m lifestyle and about the northeast, I can’t wait to go somewhere so relaxed and welcoming!

^if I get in hopefully :-S

So does W&M “super score” the ACT if you take it more than once?

ACT is not super scored. Only the SAT is.

PS: For those of you anxious about a decision release, as we posted in a response to a comment on our previous blog, we WILL NOT release decisions over the holidays. Following the break we will complete our Early Decision process and prepare for a decision release. Please refer to our blog from March regarding “the most asked question.” While the dates and timeline are applicable to regular decision, the heart of the content applies to Early Decision. We appreciate everyone’s patience. We believe our early December timeline for a release is still on target.

For anyone curious about release date.

Haha oops! @daniil450 Didn’t see your post.
(My post is an excerpt from the link that daniil450 posted)

Maybe the thanksgiving holiday will serve as a nice distraction as we wait!

“For those of you anxious…” AKA everyone on this thread right now haha. @Runnergirl76‌ my GPA is a 4.02. @0blondie2‌ That’s so awesome! I love making new friends with the same idea as me that school should be a calm atmosphere where the aim is to gain life experience while having fun! (learning too, but not JUST tests!) I also had an idea and I’d like feedback from everyone…I was thinking (assuming I will attend W&M) that I would call admissions and ask for an email list of all the kids from my area (Northern NJ/hudson valley NY) who will be attending the college, and try to coordinate like a get together at six flags or something in spring/early summer 2015, so we all go into college at least knowing SOME people, and feel more relaxed, you know? You guys think it will work, is it plausible? or even a good idea to begin with? would anyone be interested in coordinating a get together with me? feedback please :)

I am very nervous for the admission decisions. Unfortunately, I am not sure I will be able to enjoy Thanksgiving break.

@Excitedforschool‌ I’m not sure the admissions office can give you other students’ information due to privacy reasons, but there are many other ways to organize get together. In previous years there is usually a class facebook group where people post in and try to organize fun meetups in the area. Some of the past destinations: Boston, NYC, DC, Busch Gardens, it’s really up to you! There is also a meet and greet after everyone has committed usually held at an alumni house or a convenient location with a handful of people from your area. New Jersey happens to be a popular area for out of state students if that’s where you’re from.

@jvpn2015 Enjoy your break! Try not to think about college for a while. Thanksgiving is a good time to think about all that you have and all the things that have lead you to come to this point. When you do a little reflecting and soul searching, you realize how far you’ve really come. College isn’t the end all be all, and I can definitely understand the anxiety, but don’t let it impact your holiday. Think of it this way, you’re done and completed with a big portion of applications and you’re ahead of the majority of students. So stuff your face in turkey and realize there’s nothing more you can do at this point than sit back and enjoy

I’m not ED or the Class of 2019, but I couldn’t help myself

@Excitedforschool The class Facebook page is a great way to organize that!

Thanks everyone, I didn’t realize that there were already forums in place for get togethers! I’m so excited now! So hopefully we can get that Facebook page going within the next week or two :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :)

@excitedforschool that’s an awesome idea, I should do the same for Chicago

I noticed that the last two years, the decisions came out on a Friday. Just something to think about :)

I think it has more to do with where Thanksgiving falls – before the deadline.

Searching back through old forums – the last time Thanksgiving fell on November 27th - was 2008 – and letters were mailed out (no emails back then) on Monday, December 1st.

Similar timeline this year? (Or at least close to it.)
