I think that I will get really screwed by the Hurricane, as I live in the middle of the projected path (Naples). I haven't sent out my application yet for Harvard because I'm waiting on a letter of Recommendation. however, I don't know when the next time I'll see my teachers will be. What should I do?

I hope you stay safe and nothing too serious happens.

I thought letters were supposed to be sent by your teachers or whoever you give them to separately?

anyways- call up Harvard and explain the situation- They should tell you what to do. They'll probably tell you send in the main part of your app along with anote explaining the circumstances and send the rest when you can. Just call up and ask.

Send the application now. Don't wait for your recs to be ready. They are usually sent separately later anyway.

After things settle down after the hurricane, gently remind your teacher about the rec by asking if there is anything you can do or provide to make things easier for him/her to get the letter out.

I hope that you and your loved ones stay safe.

Send the application without the letters. That's what most people do unless the apps are sent out in a total packet by their guidance counselor. Since the hurricane is threatening, you need to send the app today.

i live in orlando. i sent my app a month ago. glad i did. everything was in a month ago. w00t

oh well, here's to hopin we get a week off.

Dude you live near Micky mouse! :) I live in Tampa and they better have the ACT tomorrow or I am screwed!!

I sent my application (without recommendations ) out last night using priority mail. It cost me a couple of bucks but it's worth the security. How did ACTs go for you, apfreak? I'm sure that you did just fine after you studied so hard. School and work cancelled sunday and monday!!! However, there's nothing to do around here with many of my friends gone and the curfew tonight.
