Winter 2012- Transfers Accepted/Denied/Pending?

they uploaded this week on wed. last year! maybe news tomorrow.

@KatleyFC: Wow 5 is a really good score. How did you prepare for the exam? And what’s your cumulative? Just curious. Did you also apply for Fall 11 as well or Winter 12 is your first time at the Foster. I am asking because I have chosen Economics as my alternative major in case I get unlucky with Foster. In that case, I would reapply to the Foster for Fall 12 as a UW native. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that. I am only worried about my WSA since they give so much weigh to it. My all other stats are way above average.

@katleyfc could you please post the stats they put in email on how many were accepted?? and also what wass your cumlative?

@ sgcore: My first time applying for Foster was for Winter 2012. I did not apply concurrently with my UW application because I had not yet finished the prerequisites for UAG. I finished the prerequisites during summer quarter at community colleges.

I didn’t do much to prepare for the WSA because there is not much that can be done to prepare. Just make sure to look over the sample prompts (they only provide one per task) and scorings. You can find that information here: [On-line Writing Skills Assessment Workshop](http://www.foster.washington.edu/academic/undergrad/WSAworkshop/Pages/OnlineWSAWorkshop.aspx)

@ sgcore & singh: My combined GPA was 3.87, and my pre-application GPA was 3.93. I’m not sure how they determine it. The average combined GPA for admitted students was 3.5 and the average pre-application GPA for admitted students was 3.61. The average WSA score for admitted students was 4.44, and my average (of the two tasks) WSA score was a 5. The average WSA score of all applicants was 3.57.

Keep in mind, these numbers are for UAG only.

Combined GPA is given 40% weight in the admission decision, pre-application GPA is given 25% weight, and WSA score is given 35% weight.

@ KayleyFC: You must be very good writer to get a score of 5 considering you didn’t prepare much for WSA.
Well Good luck for your future! Hopefully I ll see you at Foster!!

Im a transfer from SCCC and the waiting is killing me! Im sure you all feel the same!

Has anyone heard anything yet? I’ve checked, but nothing on my profile has changed?

I haven’t heard anything, either. I’ve pretty much resolved myself to the idea that I’m not getting in. I just want to know for sure, one way or the other.

@ sgcore: Thanks! I actually want to be an author more than a businesswoman, but I’m majoring in business administration because it’s more practical as a major. I also enjoy business, too. I think, overall, I will end up being a businesswoman who writes novels on the side. :)

My official transcript hasn’t loaded yet either… I’m SO freaking nervous!

I’m just holding my place here to say that I haven’t had my transcript load or received news yet either! I’m a transfer from EdCC, my mail wont come for a few hours either…

I guess we will have to wait until Monday then :(

does anyone know if they upload unofficial transcript over the weekend or we will have to wait until monday to keep checking

Just keep checkin’ brah

No transcript loaded for me yet at this point and the mail has nothing!

Nothing here on both fronts

I’m starting to think that we will have to wait till Monday  However if I remember correctly there was a person from last year’s post who heard from UW on Saturday so there’s a chance that they’ll send out letters or upload unofficial transcripts to some.

I remember that people’s transcripts could upload 12 AM

I was really hoping we would hear this week. This waiting kills. I don’t think I’ll get in anyways because I only have 60 credits, but I just want to know!

I too only have around that many credits… Cross your fingers!

i remember that my unofficial transcripts loaded at 4pm and 2 weeks after, i got the acceptance letter.
