Congrats to everyone who got in! Unfortunately my unofficial transcript still hasn’t loaded.
@DianaUW2017 I tried called admissions just now and asked the same thing. They just told me they’re slowly rolling out decisions and hope to get get them all out by the end of November. The person said it wasn’t possible to check the status of the decision… So how exactly did they tell you?
@nicolasr@DianaUW2017 i called them too and asked them the same thing, they said we are going to know our decisions hopefully before December. But how did you get them to tell you your decision over the phone?
@nicolasr I guess we’ll just have to wait then… i was a little confused over the phone because he said that they are releasing decisions now. I was like, “but i havent recieved a decision at my UW” then he was like, “oh well that means we havent really made a decision for you yet.” This is getting really annoying
@Girlygirl256 Hey don’t worry. We have to continue to be patient at this point. Yesterday, some people’s unofficial transcripts began to load as late as 6-7PM. So we might get an update later today.
Is anyone in this thread applying for engineering? Or has been admitted to engineering? I’m wondering if they are releasing decisions in order based on departments
@nicolasr@ManUtdEPL i actually spoke with an advisor about it a few months ago and she told me that applying directly is very competitive than as a pre-engineer major. So if you’re not able to get in directly to your major you would be placed in pre-engineer. Especially if you still havent finished all your prereq. (Like me)
@Girlygirl256 I am pre-engineering. Any applicants for winter should be pre-engineering. I’ve spoken with the advisors a bunch. They only take new applicants for the college of engineering in the fall (right at June so they can see all of your prereq grades) unless you are going for bio, chemical, computer or electrical engineering, because they have longer programs, so they let/require you to start in the Spring, depending on which program it is. As far as I understand, they don’t take any applications for winter at the College of Engineering, and when you do apply for fall or spring, you have to apply to the college in addition to your transfer app to UW itself. For some departments of the CoE, UW admissions shelves it and lets the department make the decision directly.
If I got any of that wrong or someone has better info, please let me know. But also, my data on my transcript (that I already had from an earlier attendance) did update, so I believe they made a decision on me yesterday, I just don’t know what it is.
@UWCoETransfer17 everything you said was right. I rememmber one of the advisors at UW told me if i wanted to apply for Civil Engineering I would have to submit a seperate application after completing all of my prereq classes. I think you could apply for Spring Quarter or Falll. Once I do get admitted at UW, i plan on taking Differential equations, Engr physics. II etc.
May I ask what field in engineering are you majoring in?
I GOT IN! So I found a new method to check whether you got in. When you get your admissions packet, you can accept your offer of admission online (I was scoping out the new husky webpage). If you got in, you accept your offer at https://sdb.admin.uw.edu/enroll/uwnetid/ if you already have a uw net id. Good luck everyone!
@Girlygirl256 Civil Engineering as well. The CoE page says mech and civil aren’t on the list for Spring apps tho. Fall only, and they plan out your junior year for you almost completely is the reason why, at least for civil. I applied for winter because I was having a hard time getting all the prereqs on time, jumping around between multiple community colleges.
@Girlygirl256 I hope to see you there. @Hubang I attended UW over the summer during open-enrollment, so I already had an unofficial transcript and a fully operational myUW page (no application button to click on, etc.). The only clue was that my registration page changed yesterday to include my intended majors.
