My freshman son thinks he will have to move all his stuff out of his dorm room over Winter Break. Is he correct?
I don’t know the answer but typically students don’t have to move stuff out over winter break. Is he changing rooms after the winter break? He should ask his RA and/or ResLife. If you prefer, you can call ResLife as well.
No planned room change. We thought it sounded odd and would be very inconvenient!
I’ve never heard of having to move someone out over the winter break if they are going back to the same room for the spring semester. He can ask his RA but that sounds very odd since your housing contract should be for both the Fall and Spring semesters.
He will check with his RA. I’m thinking he must have misunderstood.
Two of my kids had to have their rooms “inspected” by the RA before they left for break to make sure the fridges were unplugged and empty and windows were closed and locked, but that’s it
Maybe it’s just musical instruments that are not supposed to be left in the dorm rooms over an extended break. That might make more sense…
You can certainly leave stuff in the dorm over winter break
