<p>Hi. I just heard from a past Cornell student who lived in High Rise 5 several years back, that they were asked to totally unpack their rooms over Winter Break. Is this generally what happens? Do I need to move my child's stuff out for winter break and then move it back in? This sounds absurd, but apparently it did happen. What are others' experiences? Not happy to hear this at all.</p>
<p>Never mind. I called the housing office and, no, this doesn’t happen. Anyway, the source of this concern told my spouse that it happened about 8 years ago, so if it happened then, it’s not happening now. Something to do with students coming in to take winter courses, so some students had to clear their stuff out to make room for the other students. I can only imagine the outcry that would come out of that, which could be why it no longer occurs? I don’t know, but please don’t anyone concern yourself over this bombshell that I posted.</p>
