Wis/Minn Reciprocity changes

It will now cost Wisconsin kids substantially more to go to UMinn over a UW school as difference will come from their pocket unless UMInn makes a change. I think fewer Wisco kids go to UMinn now.--at least for flagship although still way cheaper than going to UMich or Illinois, etc.

Minnesota signs off on tuition deal with Wisconsin

This does not affect any students who start this fall or previously until 2015. I don’t understand how Minn can dictate to Wis that the students instead of the state of WI make up the difference in tuition. It will change admissions at UW as well as at U of M.

The Wisconsin Governor made that call. Not Minn. Will save the state millions per year. The only change Uminn could make is to charge lower tuition (than Minn instate which is much higher than UW’s) for just Wisconsin kids. Not likely as the locals would raise hell. Yes, current students are grand-fathered.
