Hi, I just got a letter from WISE program.. but I want to know if I am still eligible to be accepted to the honors college which was my second choice..
I only selected WISE as my first choice because I was not confident enough, but is it possible to get accepted by both programs and choose one?
Also, Out of how many students from WISE program were accepted to the med program?

No, you cannot get accepted to both. Congrats on your WISE admission!

If you haven't gotten your Scholars for Medicine letter yet, it might not be coming; I think the letters have all already been sent certified mail.

Chris

are the honors acceptances out yet?

I haven't gotten anything regarding wise/honors college, but a friend who goes to my school got an acceptance from WISE.

Does this mean I was rejected?

I haven't got anything yet either :(

Official word is that WISE went out on Friday; spoke with Carrie Ann today. No word yet from Honors, but I know decisions have been made, because we can see them on our system. Good luck to all of you!

Chris

sbu - This is seriously scary. There's no way I got into Honors if I didn't make WISE....

Not necessarily. They're mutually exclusive; they work together, but one is not more selective than the other. They serve a different population.

Chris

Hi Chris,

If it's not some kind of secret, would you mind telling us what the cut offs were for the honors college? What was the admit rate?

Thanks

Can we call and ask if we got in? I really really hope I did..

an2008 - Don't know any of that yet. It's not a cutoff per se -- it's more than just a GPA/SAT thing.

BF! - I wouldn't call them right now, as the letters just went out. Give them time to get the responses in the mail.

Chris

Chris:
Have they sent both acceptances and rejections for the Honors College, or acceptances only? And have ALL acceptances to HC been sent by now?

But the HC looks for a higher SAT score. And my SAT scores are kind of lacking, so I highly doubt for that reason I got into Honors over WISE.

Yeah I think they said that SAT score for Honors College was like 1300 or 1350

And my SAT score is a 1280. And WISE I think wanted a 1250?
So I just assumed I'd be better suited for WISE.

I got an Honors College acceptence today (New York) so they're certainly not done yet.

My daughter received an Honors College acceptance today as well.

Where in NY do you live? Near Stony Brook?

We are in NYC, the letter arrived today.

Does anyone know if they sending out only acceptances or are they sending rejections as well?
Plus, just out of curiosity, Citymom, did you happen to notice the postmark date on the letter?
