Congratulations on the scholarship!

Chris

Chris
Thanks,

I got the Presidential Scholarship too.. but mine is only $10,000 over 4 years. Why is there a difference between mine and digpal's?

what about you perfected ?

Digpal: What is "comprehensive fees"? Is it a 1500 fee listed in cost of attendance or room and board as well?
Butterflies!: Did you get 10K (full tuition plus a lot) for each year or just 2500 a year (half tuition)
I just try to see what we should expect. Herd from HC but no scholarship letter yet.

I thinks comprehensive fees= tution (4350)/year + fees (1410)/year
detail at
Stony Brook University Scholarship Office
when did you herd from HC, congratulations

The term "Presidential Scholarship" covers a range, not a specific dollar amount. There are a lot of factors that go into scholarship dollars.

Chris

Chris
are all the accetance and rejection out ?
i did not get either

Citymom--I got 2500 a year. I didn't realize that that was half the tuition though. I thought Stony Brook was about 15k/yr?

15k a year is tuition+room&board+other fees
Tuition for a NY resident is $4,350

hrmm, is there a way to switch from WISE program to honors college now? or later during my undergraduate years in stony brook? I would love to go to stony brook but not to an all women's program tho.. is there a way?

Thanks!
HC letter arrived a week or so ago.

any one got any letter fro HC today ?
I did not

Letter from SB dated 03/11/2008 and signed by Bill Miller (Faculty director, Honors College): We are delighted to invite you to become a member of the SB University Honors College, class of 2012! . Return the enclosed reply form no later than May 1.

Letter from SB dated 03/19/2008 and signed by Mark H. Aronoff (Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education ): This year we received a record number of applications from many outstanding students . As a result we are unable to offer you admission to the honors program to which you applied. Instead, we are pleased to offer you admission to SB University Scholar Program

WHAT??????

Did I miss something????

LaNY - send me your info (christopher.dorso@stonybrook.edu) -- I'll figure out what happened.

msk - No, it's not possible to switch. They have different programs. Believe me, you'll enjoy WISE; Carrie Ann Miller is outstanding, and they have a great group. You're not going to an all-women's college, it's just one program within the greater scheme of things. Trust me. Talk to them.

Chris

I got a letter about my $1,000 scholarship.
So I guess that means I didn't make it to WISE or Honors...?

You can call the Honors college and ask about acceptance. They answer.
