Withdrawing a Class Senior Year

Hi Folks,

So far my senior year I have gotten all As in my first semester. However, in my second semester, I have a community college class that I am currently failing. It is Differential Equations. The withdraw deadline for this class is in late April after I get acceptance letters from all the colleges I applied to. My question is whether I should wait to withdraw after I get my decisions or if I should withdraw now and let the colleges know. Will withdrawing a class have my acceptance rescinded?

Thanks,
A burnt-out senior

Any changes to the curriculum upon which your admission decision was based should be communicated to schools and they may or may not decide to rescind an acceptance. They!ll eventually see it on final transcripts, and it’s better the find out now than later.

As DiffEq is beyond the typical HS course progression, my opinion is that there is a very, very small chance this would impact any decision.

I would suggest waiting for decisions, work on getting the grade up, and if, by about 2 weeks before the deadline you are still in the same situation, write to schools where you have been accepted to notify them/ask for their input on actions and consequences.

Thank you for your reply. I will try my best.
