Withdrawing from a class second quarter senior year?

I am in AP World and I hate it so much.It is my first AP class and it is just so overwhelming.I got a B last quarter and I have a F because I got a 59 on the last test and did horrible on all of the other ones and I studied so much. I just don’t know what I could’ve done differently.I try so hard and just keep doing horribly. I’m afraid if I stay in it that it will get worse throughout the school year and then I will get rescended if I actually get into college. I just don’t know what to do because won’t it look bad if I switch out. My dad will tell me I am lazy and I will never live it down. Will I get rejected from colleges if I switch out?I’m starting to question whether I can even handle college if I can’t even handle an AP class.

  1. Talk to the teacher 2) Talk to your guidance counselor

If you decide to switch out of AP you should immediately inform the colleges you have applied to that you switched into a different level class (or risk having an acceptance rescinded).

Ok, but does a withdrawn ruin my chances at colleges?

At most colleges, no. Some competitive colleges will see you withdrawing from your first and only AP class as being not ready. A D or F will be worse.

I am doing one other AP class this year,Macroeconomics. It is only a semester class though.

Will I not get into colleges if I drop it?I’m freaking out and don’t know what to do because I asked my parents and they think I’m lazy and that I don’t try but I am trying so hard I just don’t know what to do anymore.
