Withdrawing from a Course and Transfer Admission

Hello everyone I need some advice.

I decided at the end of my last semester that I am definitely going to transfer colleges. This semester I enrolled in courses that will help fulfill core requirements, one of these was an English class. Right around the beginning of the Spring semester I sent out my transfer apps. I also got a credit evaluation from a school (which I am seriously considering attending) and they told me that all of the classes that I have from this semester would transfer over besides for the English class. This English class is unique to my college’s core curriculum and not their’s. Anyway, unfortunately shortly after this I had to spend some time in the hospital due to an unexpected complication. Although I’m now recovering this whole situation has caused my a lot of anxiety. I decided to withdraw from the English course in order to focus on my health. My advisor approved of my decision. I just found out that I got into the school that I am seriously considering however they are unaware of my withdrawal because my transcript was sent out before the withdrawal. According to my letter of acceptance, “your admission decision is contingent upon successful upon the successful completion of all courses with a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher.” I have to send in another transcript in at the end of the semester.

Should I e-mail my admission counselor now to tell them about my withdrawal, or should I not say anything unless they ask me when they receive the updated transcript? Will my admission be revoked? I’m worried; it’s unlike me to have to withdraw from a course, I had a 4.0 last semester. I solely did this due to health concerns. By the way, I’m not an intended English major. I also did not drop the course because I was worrying about failure. I needed to cut down on classes and dropping this one would cause me the least harm in the long run of my college education.

It always best to ask, but I am very doubtful it would get your admission revoked based on what you provided.

Since you say you withdrew due to a health concern they may be willing to hear you out. Just be upfront an honest so as to not waste anyone’s time, including your own. They will find out anyway. Perhaps you could take this course over the summer as well.
