withdrawing twice in freshman year.

Hi, I'm currently a freshman in college.
I failed a midterm in philosophy class which takes 30% and there's no other tests but a final and two 10% essays each.
I'm not sure if i need to withdraw again or just stick with it...
I can petition for withdrawl because the professor didn't let me know my grade before the deadline..

How bad are 2Ws in my transcript?

2 withdrawals aren’t too bad overall, but it means you should be more careful for the rest of your college career, particularly if you want to go grad school.

And was your professor supposed to show you your grade or is it optional? That parts a little confusing.

I don’t think 2 W’s are awful if that’s all you have over four years. But if you’re withdrawing twice this year, how can you be sure the same thing won’t happen again? Freshman year is probably the best time to withdraw if you must (play the “adjusting to college” card) but just realize you’re making it so if you have to withdraw later, you’re putting yourself in a bad place.

Why are you failing?
