im a jr college student. ive been accepted already (for fall of 2006, but deferred to fall 07) to penn state and st joes univ. i also just applied to villanova for fall of 2007. i only need 2 more classes to get my associates degree (a speech class is required). anyhow i have been sort of slacking and im not doing well in 2 of my classes (plus i got mono). if i decide to withdraw from these two classes but do decent in the other two and still get my associates will i be ok? keep in mind i withdrew from about 3 other classes over the past 2 years that ive been here.

these are my stats from high school:

gpa = 2.8 (slacked)

sats=1150

stats from jr college:

gpa=3.7

phi thetta kappa

deans list

rightcoastsurf: depending on the school, you might not be admitted to villanova. Its just because that most schools expect you to finish your last semester out with a C or better in all classes and they expect you to explain why you didn't complete any courses. Its just a way to keep students from "slacking" in the last semester prior to transfer and end up having to complete an additional semester. I recommend you finish out those last two courses. Or ask a counselor whether you can take the courses for "Credit/No credit."

I'm in the same situation. 17 units, 2 of which are honors courses, add in work and i'm just in the mood to slack. So my plan is to alleviate one course from my GPA by taking it as Credit/No credit and focus on getting credit instead of an A grade.

well the thing is, i do have a doctors note stating that i have mono...not sure if that is a decent enough excuse or not

wow....anyone else???

hmmm this board isnt too much of a help, jeeze.

Yes dude, i'm in the same boat. I have decided not to withdraw from my classes. I just figure that I rather not lose the admission than not having a C on my transcript.

thanks guys, anyone else?

you shouldn't withdraw without notifying them first and sending a fax of the doctor's note.
