/sigh, anyone else? Can't believe this.

yea, I got rejected from their honors program too...

Daughter rejected. What bothered me (not her) they asked her to apply for honors. She was happy just to apply regular admission. JMU is second on her choice. BTW...she was waitlisted at WM

JMU students are given another opportunity to apply to the honors college once they are students at JMU.

From the JMU HONORS WEBSITE...

For CURRENT JMU and TRANSFER STUDENTS interested in being a Honors Scholar-Track II student:

Current JMU students are eligible to apply if you have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA. You must have completed at least your first semester as a freshman but not yet started your first semester as a junior. If you are a transfer student, you must submit a copy of your transcripts from your previous college in addition to the application. Be sure to visit the respective Requirements section on our website for more information. To apply, complete a Track II Application. Applications must be typed. Handwritten forms are not accepted. Submit to Hillcrest 105.
For JUNIORS interested in the Senior Honors Project-Track III:

Current JMU students who are in their first semester as a junior should attend the Senior Project meetings for prospective students held at the beginning of each semester. These are informational meetings provided to answer questions about completing undergraduate research as an Honors Program student. You should begin the project during the second semester of your junior year (or 3 semesters prior to your expected graduation date). You must have a 3.25 cumulative GPA at the time of submitting your project proposal. Be sure to visit the respective Requirements section on our website for more information. A Senior Honors Project Application must accompany the project proposal. Applications must be typed. Handwritten forms are not accepted. Submit to Hillcrest 105.

All Track II students must complete 24 credit hours in honors courses for graduation in honors. The required honors hours do not supplant any required hours in general education or the major. Many honors courses will double count toward general education requirements or the student's major requirements as well as toward the honors total. Other honors courses may even triple count towards requirements in a student's major, honors, and general education. Honors electives come from honors courses, honors seminars, general education, and honors options. A diploma with the honors distinction will not be issued until all honors requirements are met.

Honors students must maintain a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and take at least one honors course or Honors Option per semester until all honors requirements are met. Failure to meet these standards will be cause for probation or dismissal. Refer to page 26 in the Honors Program Handbook on how to stay in good standing.

Track II students who enter the Honors Program in their second, third, or fourth semester of university work should begin taking honors courses as soon as possible. Track II students should especially consider using the Honors Option in courses in their major field of study. Track II students will begin their senior honors project in the junior year, submitting the project proposal (form available online) and completing the 499A course. The final year should be devoted to completing the senior honors project.

I was rejected at UVA and accepted to JMU honors. Still don't know if I'm going to attend. It's either JMU or NYU and, unfortunately, it'll most likely come down to money and JMU is a whole lot cheaper.

Has any international students received admission to the Honors program yet? I am sooo worried
