Won best delegate in MUN today after submitting app

Hey guys,

So I already submitted my ED app to my number one school. However, today I won best delegate with a perfect score at a regional conference and think it really backs up my position as president in our MUN school chapter. MUN also ties greatly with what I want to do in my future as well as what I said in my essay. Do you guys think I should email the admissions office and tell them about this award?

Also, this was only my second conference and my second year in MUN (I am a founding member at our school). Should I mention this in the email?

Sure, write to share your good news! You need not mention it was only your second conference. The impressive part is the award, and also, as I am sure you mentioned already in your application, that you founded it at your school.

Keep the email short and factual.

But you should not send too many emails, so try to make this the only news email until the early decision is made.

Congratulations and good luck.

Thank you so much! The applicant portal actually has an applicant update section. Should I just upload it through there by making a document and then sending it

Sounds good. Have a friend or teacher or family member read your update and give you feedback on your wording before you submit it.

I would recommend you keep it very brief. I think a couple of sentences should do the trick. Admissions officers are not looking for extra essays to read.

Hows this?

Dear the ____ (college),

I am extremely excited to inform the admissions team that I won the best delegation award at the (insert high school name) Model United nations regional conference on November 10th, 2018 with a perfect score. Please contact me through email if you guys have any questions or concerns!

My name

Do you mean delegation (plural) or delegate?
And please don’t use “guys” with professional adults who make your college admit decision.

Agree about not using *guys" and wondering if it should be “delegate”. And I’d use a period instead of the exclamation point and take out the “concerns” (nothing to be concerned about) in the second sentence.

Yeah, I took out “you guys” but not the concerns. Best delegation was awarded because there was only one certificate per two people I guess, oh well I already submitted it. I think it should be fine!
