Award Received AFTER submitting ED app

Hi all,

I just came back from an MUN conference and won "Best Delegate". Would this be helpful to send in to the Admissions office?

I am sort of in contact with someone that works in the admissions office, who I have been emailing with questions about the application. Should I send an email informing the admissions office of this recent achievement?

Someone said to me that this might make me sound "desperate". However, to be honest, I am desperate. The LAC im applying to is my dream school :)

Relax.

I don’t think one award will give you any more of a chance. No one else would have it anyway.
You are, like you said, sounding very desperate :stuck_out_tongue:
Just wait it out. Buy some good fruit juice smoothies to get you through the… 37 days? we have left. Get your mind off college, maybe through focusing on high school? Or try to make some relationships. Maybe a serious one :O

@Precursor

Thank you for the advice. The other reason why I am am inclined to send this in is because although I have been an avid participant of MUN in my high school years, I have not been recognized for any tangible ~achievements~. Do you think it would HURT me in any way to submit this? I’m willing to use anything possible to gain even a tiny bit more of a push.

You can contact the college. It depends on how big the award is, though.

Send the Office of Admission an e-mail or a letter updating the application with details of the award. Be sure to have you name and SS# on it so they can marry it up with your application. Congratulations!

I’m not sure how “big” the award is considered. I was chosen by the President of my specific MUN committee as the “Best Delegate”. But I guess it can’t hurt to send it in, right?

I’d check with your GC for advice as to how to handle this. My inclination would be to send them a short note.

You should send the information in. Can you get a letter from the Pres of the committee?

Isn’t everyone desperate to get into their ED school ;)

I think you should definitely send it in. Something similar happened to my older S after he submitted his ED app (he was named MVP of a team), and the college counselor at his private school strongly encouraged him to submit the additional info.

Thanks for the info and suggestions, everyone. I think i’ll send them an email, and if they have further questions, I’ll request a note from the President of my committee to send in.
