I was wondering when and how you apply for work study at Notre Dame.

I accepted it in my financial package, but I was wondering if they assign you a job or if you apply and if you do apply, when are you able to do so.

Thank you!

I am also curious. Also, I was wondering what the average pay rate was, so we can devise around how many hours a week we’ll need to work for our package.

You have to apply and secure your own job. Payrate is minimum wage to ~$9/10/hr. Perhaps there are some specialized jobs that pay more.

Towards the beginning of August, available jobs will begin to be listed on ND’s site. I believe it’s in the financial aid section, in the “Inside ND” portion. They will give you your username and password this summer (if not already) so you can access it.

Posters advised S 4 years ago to watch the job list and APPLY EARLY, esp. if you don’t watch one of the more common jobs like dining services. They will then interview shortly after you arrive on campus. S did this, worked for the same department all 4 years (is graduating in 2 weeks), and had a great experience.

Last year the pay rates started at around $7/hr and maxed at $8.15, which is what I got for working a “skilled” job (doing homework while keeping watch over one of the science facilities at night).
