Work study

Anyone know how this works? How do you get a job that meets this program?

We'll have to wait for veterans to post.

I wasn't on work study but I don't think it is all that hard to find the jobs. There are tons of jobs on campus and some jobs are reserved for work study so, again, finding the job won't be a problem. I am thinking they will tell you what your choices are and you can decide, but I may be wrong. Jobs I always recommend are being a tutor, working in the Office for Students with Disabilities, and being a cluster watcher for OIT.

There was a previous thread about this. There are a lot of jobs available but the best ones go fast and some are not generally taken by freshmen, like the RecSports job I have.

Dining halls never totally fill up their positions, and LaFortune has a plethora of opportunities for workers. I recommend the Huddle: you get to swipe cards most of the time and don't have to handle food. There's also Burger King, Subway, Sbarro, and Starbucks.

A lot of students work for some of the Notre Dame Food Service chain outlets, like any of the cafes scattered around campus (i.e. Cafe Poche in Bond Hall). Others work at Reckers, which I have heard is a lot of fun.

You'll find work.

But how does the money work? My financial aid package listed an amount...do I get that amount by working OR do I get an hourly rate that plugs into my account?

i'm not positive, but I am pretty sure that the amount they list is just a general estimate of how much you should make working...
