World History 2010 Exam

Thanks! =D

how hard is it to get 9’s on essays?

Well I did not do a deep POV on all, just asked myself “why did this person say that?” and stuff like that and jotted down my answer in two sentences, more in better POV questions of course. My teacher always told us to do more.

MY DBQ was very long indeed, but it was good. I felt like the second essay was extremely general.

Multiple Choice was easy because I studied a lot. In all of the practice tests I never missed more than 11.

I definitely kept going and going with my DBQ. I analyzed POV on all of the documents that were text-based (i.e. anything other than the charts and images). I also mentioned the need for TWO additional documents, and grouped the documents in like 5 different groups. It is indeed overboard, but I had plenty of spare time to utilize. Plus, you have to do something “extra” than what the basic core calls for in order to qualify for expanded core points. :)

How long were your guys’ essays? My DBQ was three pages (one front-and-back, one complete front). Both my second and third were both just two pages (one front and one back). This comes to a total of 7 pages (pages/sides… NOT 7 SHEETS of paper).

I did 4 pages for the DBQ, 2.5 pages for COT, 3.5 pages for Compare/Contrast (10 pages total). My hand was dying, especiallly since I did 9 pages of AP Lang essays the day before. :(

At least I had a good supply of mints to keep me going. :)

Yeah I always do two docs. Our teacher told us you HAD to do that, not that it was optional. I only had 3 groupings though (I suck at planning). I spent time thinking of outside stuff. Mine was about 4 pages, but my handwriting is bad and big.

I hope mine is like the 1st one graded, because if mine is like the 600th one graded, it’s going to **** my grader off. Maybe the post-reading apology and smiley face will leave them happy and they’ll give me 9/9. My handwriting is atrocious. It took me like 5 minutes to find my docs throughout my DBQ to make sure I used them all…■■■■■.

i wrote a ridiculous amount for the dbq so hopefully thats a 9. the second one i knew a lot about but i’m afraid i might have done it sorta wrong. my turning point was kinda…soon after the beginning o_O
second wouldve been easy if i had studied it better. i didnt know that much on the differences.
everyone in my class thought MC was really easy. i thought it was like ehh…easier than the '02 for sure.

I changed like 8 of my answer questions, skipped 2 or 3. BS all all essays

I “self studied” (err didn’t study for, even on the last day) the test.

MC was honestly a joke. Each of the 4 questions I wasn’t sure on were 50/50 guesses for me. I finished the MC at 8:23 AM.

FRQs were somewhat easy as well. As long as all elements of the prompt are followed, it should be okay, right?

I fried it, it’s a good thing I didn’t study, it probably would have filled my head with pointless information, this exam proves you don’t need to know anything to do well on an AP Exam.

^ Ubernerd justifying not being able to do good in a simple test. You are right, it is easy, that is why I took it. Easy way to look rigorous.

^ Can someone translate that into English for me?

Damn, I think I forgot about groupings entirely. I just kind of looked at what the documents said, and then used different ones to support the thesis in different paragraphs (somtiems using the same documents for different points). Is this bad?

No, grouping is only worth 1 point. If you did what you say you should be fine.

Let’s say you got 7, 5, and 4 (worst case for me) on the essays, is it still a good chance to get a 5 with say at least 50 mc questions right?

Grouping? I just put them similar/ difference … isnt that a grouping? I guess I kinda put them in groupings a bit

I thought the MC was fair(a bit on the easy side) but I COMPLETELY bsed all of the essays :frowning: maybe a 4? Oh and *** did they mean by ______ control??? I was completely lost and bsed that essay the hardest.

how do you think the curve will be this year?

^Well I think a lot of people did bad. The MC was apparently a killer for most people on CC. Now if you factor in that the average CCer is like A++++ status… the regular kids probably did horribly. Lets hope.

how high was the curve last year?
