World History Subject Test score...

Hello... Please excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong section or anything else as this is my first post on college confidential!

I recently received my APWH subject test score and it was a 710...
I am planning to apply to major colleges such as UC and ivy leagues.

If I'm planning to major in the sciences, does it matter if my score is 710? How bad will this 710 hurt my chances for getting into these colleges?

Thank you

-A worried student.

Speed bumps

These forums really kinda go dead in the summer. It’ll pick back up around the September ACT’s.

As for your 710, is it 750 or 800? No.

But is it going to be the sole, determining factor that keeps you out of Berkeley or Dartmouth? Of course not.

710 is a pretty good score.

If you have the opportunity to retake, check the university policies and see if they request all scores, then do so. I wouldn’t feel that your application is marked by that 710.

Thank you for replying. Can less-than-what-I-wanted scores be overshadowed or “covered” by better subject test scores / AP test score ? Because I think I did pretty good on the AP test. I absolutely underestimated the subject test and did only one night of studying…

It’s good enough to not keep you out. No test score will get you in, though. Worry about other parts of your application is my advice

I see… thank you
