Worries about schooling after high school..

Last year I did terribly, I slacked off completely, I was in Canada and the HS there is 10-12 not 9-12, so I thought grade 9 wouldnt count, but then my grandfather died and we had to move back to the states so now it DOES count and I cant fix it.

On top of the I am currently failing German 1 HORRIBLY, and because my Geometry teacher isnt helping us enough just about my whole class is failing Geometry, and I plan to go into Comp Sci so this is a BIG problem for me.

Also I have never been into Extra Carricular stuff, its just not for me. And from what I've heard I need these.

I would like to attend a very good IT school, such as Georgia Tech, but I am afraid that I wont be able to get into a school like that with my GPA, and I am just not the smartest person and dont grasp alot of things like other people do. So getting A's is not easy for me.

Can someone give me some advice on what you do?

Also, for whatever reason, I write REALLY well. So if anyone has any Essay Scholarship Contests I can enter that would be great. I am a Sophmore in HS, and I am buying "Anthem" by Ayn Rand soon, this is for an essay.

Wait - you did bad Freshman year? That's really not that bad. In fact, if you make a big recorded improvement throughout high school, that arguably looks better (although, it depends on what schools you're applying).

Just do well your Sophomore and Junior years (and Senior, of course) and make sure you don't burn yourself out.

well im having trouble at the moment, i am most likely going to fail german, and im not sure on my geometry grade, but i think the geometry is getting better, we finished angular bisectors a few days ago, now i know whats going on again :D
