WORST brainfart on a submitted application

In my main CA essay, I typed the pi symbol but it was displayed as a dot when I uploaded the essay. I didn't discover this until pretty late. I had to send a really polite fax to all the schools I'd sent it to.

I also just realized yesterday that I forgot to pay for most of my schools, even though I submitted the apps weeks or even over a month ago. I hope this doesn't affect anything.

On the CommonApp activities section, I mispelled council as "councol."

Also on my supplement essay for Yale I inserted the word "though" at a random place and the sentence did not made sense.

I failed. :[

Are the essays supposed to have titles?

heartless_tin, if you're an international w/o permanent residence, i don't believe you can apply for financial aid in the first place.

@d4r7h3v1l: did the schools download your application w/o your payment?

Yes, all of them did.

then, I don't think your submitting the fee late was that big a deal

Lol, kyobo.

I haven't gone over any of my apps since submitting them...

wow......i spelled books: boos
It went something like: I really enjoy boos. haha

^^LOL! Another way to look at that is that you misspelled "booze". xD "I enjoy booze"!

Cj, I didn't use titles for any of my essays. I do not think you need them.

My mistake is that I sent in a music cd for a supplement to Scripps, and it was empty! They emailed me letting me know, and luckily they let me submit another one. ^.^;

I also had an extra "the" in my essay. It wasn't that obvious but still a booboo nonetheless?

If it's any consolation, from what I had heard and read from Admissions people, they overlook those minor little flubs...when an application is too perfect they sometimes wonder if Mom or Dad or (eekgads!) a private college counselor did most or all of the work. So I think all of you can rest easy ;)

For my Claremont McKenna supplement, i somehow ended up checking off Early Decision I instead of Regular Decision (sent in on Dec 28!). I sent the Admissions Office an e-mail and gave them a phone call to make sure that they knew that it was just because of an errant click of a mouse and not because it was coming in over a month late hahaha.

in my Sarah Lawrence essay, there are two lines where some text was re-arranged by clicking and dragging and now it sounds atrocious. something like "amazing opportunities both on and off of campus Students have the ability to take advantage of".
my brother was like "Who are you, Yoda?!"

I put as my 2nd possible major as Art History, and the minute I submitted my common app to all my schools...I realized that NYU and Carnegie Mellon don't have art history :O

And my friend...lol he sent a statement on why he wanted to go to yale to ALL his schools accidentally coz he put it in the "additional info" section when he applied EA but he forgot to take it out for his RD schools.

That's fantastic. I guess I pulled a Yoda too.

argh... I f***ing forgot to put any of my AP scores...
some of the private colleges told me to type in my AP grades, but some of them didn't (Northwestern, Columbia...etc--cant think of the rest right now)
okay... so what should i do?!!!!!

Pyang88: so... how did you do it?!!!! HELP!!! PLEASE
Do I just list all my AP tests and the scores?????

Also, guys, for my work experience part, I put subsitue instead of subsitute...
Is it bad???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
omg... i'm freaking out here......................................... i haven't told my parents... haha :(

shiftyeyes, my essay was about my TI-83+.

"Who are you, Yoda?!"-- lol... I'm sure adcoms can decipher some meaning from that sentence (and if one of them is a Star Wars fanatic, maybe your mistake will be to your benefit! :p)

"my essay was about my TI-83+." -- TI-89's are SOOO much better! (I know, I know, I'm a dork)

jessiegirl: Don't flip out! We're all in the same boat (Although I AM a little worried that our boat will plummet down some waterfall before it actually reaches an institution of higher learning...)

Wait, so is it that bad?? hm... I'm so confused... b/c ppl are telling me it's okay................ hmmmmmmmmmm,...........,

No. Don't stress about it! All students make mistakes-- well, at least, all the human ones do.

so should I send in my AP scores by fax??? I should, huh??
