I got accepted to Riverside and I'm 100% sure I'm going there. So i was wondering if it is worth going to discovery day on the 20th since its a 7 hour drive away from where I live. Will i meet new people. Is it worth it or is it basically like one of those tours around the school?

honestly, it’s not worth it at all.

i only went because i wanted to see the dorms… fell in love with east lo right when i saw it. (:

DON’T go, not worth the drive, you’re not learning anything you’re not going to find out your first week in school. if you are an hour or two, it’s fine, but 7 hours would suck.

however if you really want to know what the campus is like so that you know you are making the right choice. then you might want to check out the campus.

Here’s my collection of pictures I took of the campus years ago…this was before the new Commons was built.

so basically if i go… im not going to learn anything D: ???

well… that depends… what did you expect to learn?

I’ll be speaking on a panel at tomorrow’s Discovery Day. If you want to learn how to do faculty-mentored research.

sunnybaNANA, it’s not that you won’t learn anything, all I’m saying is that 7 hours is a lot of driving to “get a taste” of what you’ll be experiencing Mon-Fri for the next 4-5 years. especially for cocoapuff510 who said she’s almost 100% she’ll be going.
