So, last year (sophomore year) I took AP chemistry and the corresponding AP exam. I A'ed the class but kinda freaked out on the AP test and failed (1). My question is, is it worth it to retake the exam? I'm considering going to an European college and most list "two or three corresponding AP classes with a score of 3 (sometime 4) or higher" as a general requirement on their website. Unfortunately I absolutely hate Chemistry and truly do not feel like retaking it but my mom is pushing me to because of the reason above. I have a feeling that as an international student the applications are more a case to case basis and since my school does not offer AP exams (I had to take the test outside of school) I could use it as a excuse not to take the exam, canceling my score. I A'd the class so that should be enough proof, correct?
Advice appreciated

If I were in your shoes and I’d be submitting my app based on all of these assumptions that the European AdComs will understand, I’d expect that Chem AP not to count for anything. From what I gather, the European adcoms want to “check” your educational rigor with something more… concrete, like an AP score. Since you aren’t going to submit that 1, there’s no basis for comparison.
If you have more APs that you can go by on, sure. But otherwise, stick with taking the exam.

how did you A’ed the class but got a 1 in the exam…? @_@
