We can only be in CA last week of December- is it worth visiting the campus if there are no official tours and nothing going on? We live in MA so sort of wanted to see the place…Also how hard for out-of-state psych majors to get in (freshman appl)?

Yes, its worth it to get a feel for the physical plant of the college, the town of SLO and the surrounding environment. It is definitely **not ** MA and quite different from east coast colleges. Check it out.

I would never sign up for a college and go without checking it out…although no one wil be in town you can get a feel for the area and atmosphere.
On paper and in pictures SDSU is awesome but I didn’t like it at all when I visited… Worth a trip

I believe they still have guided tours the 28, 29 & 30th. That’s when I’ll be going to tour the campus :D

Then definitely do it! We took two tours; a general campus overview and one focused on engineering (by son’s major). Both were outstanding. Sealed the deal for us.

Thanks, they told us no tours that week, we’ll check again!

If you go onto Cal Poly’s VIP page, there is a link that lets you sign up for tours. That’s where I found the dates! :)
