<p>My maternal grandfather went to Colgate College and then to Columbia for medical school. Would I be considered a legacy? Thanks!</p>

<p>No, you would not. Here is a quote directly from Columbia’s website.</p>

<p>“Please note: applicants are considered to be “legacies” of Columbia only if they are the children of Columbia College or Columbia Engineering graduates.”</p>

<p>You’re not a legacy, but you should still note it on the application where it asks if any relatives have gone to Columbia.</p>
