Would it be okay to drop an AP class for a regular if I have a C in it?

This is my first attempt at posting so I apologize if this ends up being in the wrong place.
So I’m in my senior year currently, and I’m really bad at math. Despite this, I decided to take AB calc instead of regular calculus. The homework load isn’t too bad, but the tests are really hard. I have a C in the class so far, and I was wondering if I should drop down or not to the regular version. I’m taking 3 other APS with this (Biology, Economics, and Human Geo). This is the only class where I don t have an A or A- so far.

Would this be okay for colleges? Or should I stick through the class? I’m applying regular decision to all my schools and want to major in marketing. I’m worried that my transcript will say that I dropped AB Calculus and went down to regular.

Have you talked to your counselor about this? If you drop to the other class now, your transcript will likely show only the regular level class and the semester-end grade. However, you may be past the drop deadline or there might not be room in the other class.

Not yet I haven’t. Do you think it would be okay for me to drop the AP class for the regular version however?

@siliconvalleymom is right. If you drop early enough, the AP will never show on your transcript. Unless you are planning a math related career or major in college, regular level calc is probably more than sufficient.

I think it would be fine to drop down a level. The only thing you might want to consider is, depending on how high you are aiming in terms of selectivity, dropping down a level could lead to your schedule not being marked as “most rigorous.” Whether that matters depends on what schools you are applying to.

But getting a C will hurt your GPA. I would drop
