Would my mom be disappointed if she was not there when I open my decision?

If I get accepted tomorrow I want to show up at my moms work and surprise her there. She works at a hospital and I know her coworkers so I was planning on leaving a pen and cheesesteak on her desk when she was out of the room (I am hearing back from UPenn). I would set up my Go-Pro to record her and see if and so if she could figure out the hint. Anyways, I was wondering if there were any parents out there who would be disappointed if they were not there when their kid reads their decision.

I wasn’t there for any decisions for either of my daughters. Personally, I think your plan sounds really sweet!

That sounds lovely. Good luck tomorrow.

You are such a wonderful daughter to think about how to surprise your mom! I wish you the best of luck!

Such a cute plan! I’m sure that the thoughtfulness will be greatly appreciated by your mom! Good luck!

Being there to read the decision together isn’t the only way to share the experience. Your idea is terrific.

My mom was there for a few of my acceptances. I didn’t get into my reaches, so I wasn’t super-excited, but it was still nice.
I love your plan!

As a mom, I would be thrilled and touched at the way you plan on revealing your acceptance to her! But everyone is different, of course :D. If you get admitted, can you post here and let us know so we can congratulate you? Best wishes!

My mother opened my acceptance letters before I got home from school. :open_mouth:

I’m still peeved about that decades later, so I think what you are doing is wonderful and thoughtful. I hope my daughter will have me there when she checks her portals next week for her ea schools

I think it is fantastic that you are planning a little “reveal” for your mom. What a thoughtful child!

Love the idea. My D wanted to be alone last year when she opened the portal to find out her SCEA results and I was fine with her having her privacy. So no, I wouldn’t think your mom would be disappointed.

Please keep us posted!
