Would someone give me feedback on the community essay?

Hi guys,

I’m hoping to apply early action for U of M, so I’ve drafted almost all of the essays. I feel a little hesitant on my community essay, would someone be willing to read it and provide feedback about both the essay and the topic I choose? Thanks!

I’d be happy to take a look. My daughter is a freshman this year at Michigan. I have a son at Yale, so I’m well-versed in reading their past college app essays. I cannot promise my feedback will help, but I’m willing to try! I remember the community essay question. Good luck!

…also, my daughter’s roommate is a Musical Theater (voice) major. My daughter isn’t in that school, but I’d still be willing to read your essay. I wouldn’t have too many people read your essays, though, as each will have a different opinion which could frustrate you. A trusted teacher, your parents, and–even a non-biased stranger, such as on this site–could give you feedback. Most of all, don’t bore the reader, brag, or be too cliche’. Use your own voice and “show” more than tell your reader about yourself. Early Action is a great goal as long as you don’t rush the essay. Be willing to take time for a few, or even several, revisions before the deadline. Always read your essays out loud–sometimes just to your own ears and other times to another listener. That method helps you see if the sentences flow well. Good luck!

I was accepted EA and to the honors profram–I’d love to help

I would love to read it!
