So I never ever thought I would make a chance thread, but here goes!

I'm a senior in high school, and I've already been accepted to a great lac (tier 1) but when I applied for college, there were a few higher ranked colleges I did not apply too. I am fully aware that I did not have the stats required for even having a chance at admission to schools like Williams, Amherst, Bowdoin, and Weslyan however I do realize that transfer is an option, so if any one would have any suggestions on how to improve my chances I would love to hear it.

HS GPA- 3.6
SAT- 630R- 590M-610R (retake?)

I would love to list my EC's for you if inquired to do so, although I must ask, do colleges care about high school EC's for transfer students?

I think it’s too soon to chance you as a transfer.

well yea its very soon, but I would like an idea of what grades, sat’s, or anything of value I will need to create a good application. By chance have you been through the process of transferring to a different school?

No, not yet. Prepping for it…I start sending out my apps in a few months.

but if you are only prepping for it, how do you know it is to early to start preparing?

I go to a CC where a few of my friends have successfully transferred to top 10 schools.

Rather than focusing on “Do I have a chance?” You should focus on A) Your current finals and B) trying to figure our where you stand once you do start college.

Do you want to apply as a soph transfer or junior? Spring or Fall? Some schools don’t take spring transfers after one sem, some do.
If you choose 2nd sem freshman or Sophomore then more emphasis will be placed on high school grades, ECs.
Ifthere are any ECs you’re interested in then you should stick with it through college.

Focus on your grades right now. Keep them high throughout the semester and go from there.

alright thanks for the help
