wow program

I received an email from Williams that invited me to apply to their wow program. I definitely want to, however my concern that it said preference is given to students who otherwise couldn’t afford to visit Williams. Is this program intended for low-income students or is it fine for someone who isn’t low-income to apply?
Thanks

You probably have to tell readers what program the material mentioned.

Well, the description does include this: “preference is given to high-achieving students who couldn’t otherwise afford to visit Williams.” Note that it only says “preference.” Fill out the application and see what happens.

ok thanks for the reply.

as far as I know, that is the one main program, dunno

I got the same email and I have the same concerns! Williams is my first choice and I’d absolutely love to spend 3 days on campus, but I do think the program is intended for low-income kids. There’s no harm in applying, but I wouldn’t expect to 100% get in. I also believe those who do apply but don’t get accepted get fee waivers for the common app and feedback on their application, so you’re bound to get something out of it regardless if you’re accepted or not.
