<p>Correct Answer: As one of result of its new contract, the fire department can no longer offer overtime pay on weekends.
My Answer: One result of the fire department's new contract is that they can no longer offer overtime pay on weekends. </p>

<p>I'm confused. Would the pronoun of the "fire department" be "its" or "they"? </p>

<p>Why is "or else they move" incorrect?</p>

<li><p>the pronoun of fire department would be its because there is only one department, so it is singular. “They” would mean that the fire department is plural. To better understand this, think if you would say “the department is” or “the department are”. Also works for other collective nouns like store, family, class, and neighborhood. Although people are in each group, such nouns refer to the group as a whole, not the individual clerks, family members, students, or homes. </p></li>
<li><p>There is a parallelism error here. Sentence should be: " A lack of job opportunities for recent graduates restricts their independence, often forcing them to remain at home or to move back home." The awkward phrase “or else they move” is not parallel to the infinitive phrase before it.</p></li>
<li><p>Idiom error. The proper idiom is supposed to be “regarded as”, not “regarded to be”.
