<p>i have heard many things, most of which confirm what your guidance counselor has said. all schools have been shady on their policies (except for georgetown who is flat-out discarding it).</p>

<p>true, but you're probably thinking that the writing section on the SAT is replacing the writing SAT II. The thing is, they're different. Also, they don't have averages of scores for the writing section on the SAT yet, so they can't necessarily make any exact judgments about what's a good score and what's not. I'm sure that an extremely poor score would hurt your chances for acceptance but maybe they'll just be more lenient for other scores.</p>
