writing score?

does chicago care about your writing score?
i have heard that they don
t (correct me if i
m wrong)

i did well on my CR and math sections but for some reason i really suck in writing :(

I logged on to ask this question . My writing score sucked(650) otherwise i think CR+M=1480 is a good score. And those who've already submitted thier applications , is there a place to list you SAT dates and scores on the online application????/Please Please

Thank you in advance

No, they won't even look at it.

Thanks.(10 chars)

However, the DO look at those essays, were one's writing is evaluated.

I would assume if you get less than a 650 it will look sort of bad. No college cared last year, but now that they have the admission stats from last year, they know what scores should be in range. So long as it is respectable, you should be fine. Anything less than 550 (about the national aveage) then it looks horrible for you.

^They don't even look at it.

SoulinNeed is correct, it is not included in the file sent to the admissions committee so they cannot look at it.

Are you sure about this? I thought the score report included all three scores, but they only value the reading and math. Can anyone verify this?

Look at Libby's post:

That's verification!

Here is Libby's quote from post #142 from the thread "Watch out, it's an admissions counselor!"

[quote]
...we suppress applicants' writing scores when we read their applications. That is a fact. In this way, they do not come into the admissions process. However, we do not suppress the CR and math scores. So, they are a factor, though a small one.

Thanks everyone.

Yeah, whoever said the national average is areound 550 estimated too high. I looked it up the otehr day. A big spankin' ol' 496. Made me feel really good 'bout my scores, looking at all those averages (not that my scores made me feel bad in the first place, I was just mad that my sister got a 1490 and I got a 1480)
